Who is this course for? This course is most ideal for beginners with minor sewing or pattern experience who are ready to move beyond commercial patterns and start drafting and designing their own clothes from scratch. How long is the course and can I go at my own pace? The course includes 6 modules and is designed to be completed in 6–8 weeks. The information presented is made to be very straight forward so that you are able to complete the course in a reasonable amount of time. You get lifetime access and can progress at your own speed. Do I need fancy equipment? No fancy equipment needed, just basic pattern tools and chances are, you already some of these items. Your basic pattern drafting tools will include rulers, pattern paper, pencil/eraser, set square, french curve and sewing machine. I keep it simple and accessible. All of the necessary tools will be discussed and explained in the course. What if I get stuck or have a lot of questions? You’ll have access to a private online community forum and may email me at any time to have any questions or concerns addressed. Will I really learn to design my own clothes? Yes, as long as you have done all the work and gone through all the modules. By the end, you’ll will have drafted your own pattern blocks and will have a clear understanding of how to use them to draft your own pattern pieces, fit them to your proportions, and design wearable garments with confidence.
